Pollution Control Day Awareness at SSE

On National Pollution Control Day, SIMATS School of Engineering (SSE) organized various awareness programmes for pollution control.  Over 5000 participants including Deans, Professors, and Students from SIMATS School of Engineering took part in the event. The program began with a tree-planting drive organized by Dr. N.M. Veeraiyan, Chancellor, SIMATS.

As many as 300 native saplings were planted. Later, Chancellor flagged off both the Human Chain and the Cycle Rally from the SIMATS campus.

Following this, K. Prakash, Sriperumbudur District Engineer, Dr. Karthikeyan, Pollution Control Board Chairman and S. Deepak Krishnan, Economic System Architect engaged in a panel discussion on National Pollution Control Initiatives with the students.

SIMATS School of Engineering’s National Social Service (NSS) and National Cadet Corps (NCC) units had their active participation in the awareness drive. Dr. Ramya Deepak, Director of SSE, and Dr. Ramesh, Principal of SSE, organized the event.
