CCF announces the 10th Edition of the Coimbatore Marathon

Coimbatore Cancer Foundation (CCF) announced ‘Walkaroo’ as the new title partner for the 10th Edition of the Coimbatore Marathon. The organizing team are all set up to celebrate the milestone year with a new vigour, which reflects in this year’s campaign “Odipolaama”. The registrations for the 10th edition of the Walkaroo Coimbatore Marathon powered by ELGi Equipments is now open.

The event is expected to attract more than 16,000 participants from all walks of life across the country. The funds raised from the event have contributed to the activities of CCF impacting the lives of hundreds of survivors and their families.

The event comprises a Half Marathon [21.1 KM], a 10 KM run and a 5 KM run/walk. The registration fee for the Half Marathon is Rs.1,200, for the 10 KM run is Rs.1,000 while for the 5 KM run/walk, it is Rs. 600.

Prize money amounting to Rs. 2.7 lakhs will be presented to the winners in separate categories for men and women. The prize money for the Half Marathon open category will be Rs. 25,000, Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 10,000 respectively for the first, second and third placeholders, and for the 10 KM open category, the prize money will be Rs. 15,000, Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 5,000 respectively.  For Veterans, aged 45 years and above, the prize money is Rs. 15,000, Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 5,000 for first, second and third respectively for Half Marathon and Rs. 10,000, Rs. 7,500 and Rs. 5,000 for the 10 KM run.

With new partners to support the cause and runners lacing up with newer goals, the event promises to be an all-new experience and strives to gain more strength to fight cancer”.

Valliappan, Joint Race Director, Coimbatore Marathon, said, “Considering the initial enthusiasm we see, we are confident we will close the registrations much before the stipulated last date, as has been in the past. Long distance recreational runners across the country are already asking fellow runners Odipolaama”.
