Kovai Medical Center and Hospital (KMCH) orchestrated a ‘Signature Campaign’ at Thomas Park, Race Course, Coimbatore, on October 8, 2023, to raise awareness about Breast Cancer. Enthusiastic participants actively signed the banner to show their support. The event was presided over by Arun N Palaniswami, Executive Director, and Dr. Thavamani D Palaniswami, Vice-Chairman of KMCH. Dignitaries such as Corporation Commissioner Prathap, District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati, Police SP Badrinarayanan, Police DC Sandeesh, and West Zone IG Bhubaneswari were notable participants.

In alignment with the World Health Organization’s designation of October as ‘Pink’ month, the racecourse area was illuminated with ‘pink’ lights. A diverse group, including the public, breast cancer survivors, doctors, students, and KMCH staff, actively participated in the event.

Arun Palaniswami, the executive director of the hospital, emphasized the importance of early detection, stating, “Breast cancer patients, when identified at an early stage, can be treated and cured. As part of the awareness initiative, mammograms, typically costing over Rs 3,750, are being offered at a concessional rate of Rs 1,000 this month.” Additionally, KMCH Breast Care Center is commemorating its 10th anniversary during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
