SIH concludes a five-day national-level hackathon

Smart India Hackathon (SIH) Grand Finale – Hardware Edition was a five-day round-the-clock hackathon. The event concluded with 5 winners providing solutions to 5 problem statements put forward by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment- Department of Persons with Disabilities. Each problem statement carried a cash prize of Rs1 lakh.

The winners were felicitated by Shankar Vanavarayar, Founder & MD, Forge and Vish Sahasranamam, Co-Founder & CEO, Forge. The Prime Minister of India interacted with the student participants of the Smart India Hackathon.

SIH 2022 Nodal Center for Hardware Hackathon at Forge was inaugurated by Maya Sreekumar, Vice President, Cognizant Technology Solutions with her motivating address to all the participants from across the country.

As part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell and All India Council for Technical Education has identified 75 higher educational institutes/ incubators as Smart India Hackathon nodal centres to host the participants of SIH and to facilitate an environment to conduct the Smart India Hackathon in its well-defined and established format.

2033 winner teams of campus-level hackathons organized under Smart India Hackathon 2022, comprising more than 15000 students participated in this year’s SIH grand finale at the national level.
