KMCH created awareness for Autism

The KMCH Institute of Health Science and Research (IHSR), the Department of Occupational Therapy, and KMCH College of Occupational Therapy jointly acknowledged World Autism Awareness Day recently, at the KMCH IHSR Campus.

An awareness program and skit were organized by the Department of Occupational Therapy to provide information and perception about Autism to the public and parents.

KMCH Chairman, Dr. Nalla G. Palaniswami, delivered the presidential address and spoke about raising Awareness & Acceptance of Autism by celebrating, the uniqueness of individuals with autism, and fostering understanding, acceptance, and inclusion in our Community.

 

Doctors, including Dr. Rajendran, Dr. Ashwath, Dr. Sathiyaseelan, Dr. Sudhakar Karunakaran, Dr. Pradeep Kumar, Dr. Madhubala, and Prof. Sugi from KMCH, shared their insights through interactions. Chairman inaugurated the Signature Campaign

Competitions were held, and prizes were distributed to children and their parents. Approximately 55 children and their parents participated, showcasing their unique abilities in various events such as Fancy Dress and Talent Show.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof Sujata Missal, HOD-Department of Occupational Therapy, KMCH Hospital.
