NGI encourages football enthusiasts with FIFA World Cups replica

Coimbatore Nehru Group of Institutions has brought 5 feet tall, 5 FIFA World Cup replicas from Mumbai to create awareness among college students about football competition, to inspire students who have dreams of participating and playing as National players in the future and to motivate them to participate in District, State and National level Tournaments.

While presenting the trophy to the football players of Nehru Group of Institutions, K. Raghupathi Raja Assistant Commissioner (Law and Order), Coimbatore Police Department (South) said, “Persistent participation of students in all the sports competitions will strengthen the body and mind. Through Sports Quota job opportunities are also available in many leading Public Companies, Government Offices and Private Companies. It is commendable that NGI is taking great care to encourage sports competitions among the students.”

Dr. P.  Krishnakumar, Chief Executive Officer and Secretary of NGI presided over the ceremony and said, “If you count the countries that play cricket seriously, only ten or fifteen will come. All other countries do not know what cricket is. But football is not like that; more than two hundred countries in the world have National Football Teams. The FIFA World Cup 2022 which is currently being held in Qatar is being celebrated as a Football Festival all over the world. It is very sad that India, which has the second-largest population, did not participate in this. It is noteworthy that the football match is celebrated by the most fans all over India.”
