Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women, The National Service Scheme cell jointly with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, NSS Regional Directorate, Chennai organized Shaheedi Diwas on the occasion of Swachha Campaign and Voter Awareness Drive at Avinashilingam University on Wednesday.
Govindan, Revenue Divisional Officer, Coimbatore North, and JR Subramanaian, Retired Government Officer, Education Department, Coimbatore delivered the special lecture on “Voter Education & Awareness: New Ways & Means”.
Rajendran, Programme Coordinator, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Coimbatore delivered a Special Lecture on “Gandhi’s Vision of Swachh Bharat” followed by everyone administering the Voter Awareness pledge.
Various competitions like, slogans, drawing, and reel making were conducted and prizes were given to the winners. In this programme more than 250 volunteers participated. Dr. T. Radha, NSS Programme Coordinator, and Programme officers Dr. S. Velvizhi, and Kandavelmani coordinated the entire programme.
