Dr. NGP College of Arts and Sciences organized the 25th Annual Sports Festival on Saturday at the college gymnasium.
Dr. Nalla Palaniswami, Chairman, Kovai Medical Center Research and Education Foundation presided over the event. He also hoisted the national flag in this sports event. Dr. OD Bhuvaneswaran, Chief Executive Officer, Research and Education Foundation delivered the keynote address.
Dr. Ramamurthy, principal of the college gave the felicitation speech. The sports festival parade of the students of the college was very prideful. Different types of competitions were held at the festival, which included Race for Students, Race for Professors, Javelin Throwing, Discus Throwing, Bat Ball, Badminton, and Volleyball.
Among the four teams for female students, the Emerald team secured the first position with 116 points and the Ruby team secured the second position with 103 points. In the student category, Simon Richard won the B.Com CA Student Championship title. In the female category, Karthika bagged the championship title in MSc Biochemistry. Prizes were awarded to the winning professors and students who participated in these competitions. The festival ended on a sweet note with country food.
