Karpagam Nursing College, in collaboration with the Department of Mental Health Nursing, YRC & NSS unit, organized a Mental Health Awareness Rally with the theme ‘Mental Health as a Universal Human Right’ at Malmichampatti on October 10, 2023. The event aimed to raise awareness about mental health, combat stigma, and foster a more supportive community.
Under the guidance of Vasanthakumar, Chairman, Managing Trustee, and Murugaiah, CEO, of Karpagam Education Institutions, along with Prof. Sudha, the Principal of Karpagam Nursing College, the rally received esteemed guests including Dhanalakshmi, Block Development Officer, and Palaniammal, President of Malumichampatti Panchayat. Notable figures such as Prakash, Vice Chairman, Masilamani, Union Counsellor, ward counsellors, Athipandiyan, Public Relations Officer and others from Karpagam Institutions also graced the occasion.
Dharmaraj, Director of Extension Program, and Verasamy, NSS Officer, lent their support to this impactful event. The rally commenced at Panchayat office with the raising of the green flag and traversed through major streets, concluding at Malumichampatti signal.
Athipandiyan, addressed the gathering, sharing insightful thoughts and honouring the chief guest. Over 170 students, alongside faculty members, actively participated, drawing a considerable audience from the public.
