Rotaract Club of Coimbatore Gaalaxy organized the Gaalaxy Premier League

The Rotaract Club of Coimbatore Gaalaxy has organized the Gaalaxy Premier League, a tri-series cricket tournament exclusively for specially-abled players hailing from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Jharkhand. Known for its commitment to events for differently-abled athletes, the club has previously hosted three editions of the “Abled Kovai Trophy,” a sports meet catering to these individuals.

The Galaxy Premier League took place on August 26th and 27th, 2023, at Shri Nehru Maha Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science, Malumichampatti. This event was designed to spotlight the existing talents of these athletes and provide them with a platform to excel further in their field. The inauguration ceremony, held on August 26th, was graced by Suriyaprakash, President of the Tamil Nadu Physically Challenged Cricket Association (TNPCCA), and Rtn. A. Godwin, Rotaract District Advisor, RI District 3201. Mathivaanan from Steel Fabs also showed his support for the event.

The tournament featured teams competing against each other, and the top-performing team was presented with a trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 10,000. Additionally, each participating team received a welfare fund of Rs. 5,000. The valediction ceremony was held on August 27th, with Guruswamy, former TNCA Senior Selector and Mentor for Nellai Royals Team in the TNPL, serving as the Chief Guest, and Shanthi, Deputy Collector, as the Special Invitee. The esteemed guests applauded the winners and motivated all players to pursue their goals with unwavering determination and confidence. They also commended the Rotaract Club of Coimbatore Gaalaxy for organizing an event that showcases the remarkable capabilities of specially-abled players and promotes their unique talents.
