Dr. N.G.P Arts and Science College (NGPCAS) recently organized a National Seminar on “AI Solutions for Farmer’s Safety and Security in India”, sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology – Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB). The seminar focused on the application of AI in agriculture to benefit farmers. The Welcome address was delivered by Senthil Kumar Professor of B.Sc. Computer Science with Cognitive systems and felicitated by Mary Magdalene Jane, Dean, Faculty of Computer Science and Kalimuthu, Dean, R&D Dr.N.G.P Arts and Science College. In his inaugural address, Balakrishnan, Principal Scientist from ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad, emphasized onAI tools in agriculture and life sciences. Kalpana, Associate Professor at Tamil Nadu University, discussed AI models for insects and disease detection, while Sowmya, Assistant Professor, Centre for Computational Engineering and Networking (CEN), Amrita University, addressed smart technology implementation for increased yields and farmer safety. The certificates were distributed to all the 217 participants.
