PSGRKCW hosts ‘Sustainable India-2023’ event

PSGR Krishnammal College for Women (PSGRKCW) joined hands with the Sustainability and Energy Practitioners Association (SEPA) to host National Event focused on “Sustainability India 2023”. This event comprises a series of Workshops and the Inaugural Workshop was organized on 24th and 25th July 2023 at PSGRKCW.

This Industry and Institution collaboration aims to create a technologically and demographically inclusive movement that seeks to achieve the Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals. Meanwhile, the next three workshops will take place between 21st August and 31st Oct 2023 at Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology (CBIT), Hyderabad, MIT ADT University, Pune and JSS Academy of Technical Education, Noida.

The Workshops feature Technical presentations and Panel discussions on a wide range of issues within the Renewable Energy domain particularly Solar, Green Hydrogen, etc.

The event is also supported by National Solar Energy Federation of India (NSEFI) Skill Council for Green Jobs (SCGJ) Mercom India and Cares Academy.

Additionally, a 3 Level National Solar Competition has also been planned, for Students from Colleges and Universities across the country, to orient their thought processes towards Sustainability and Renewable Energy in general and Solar in particular.

The event featured distinguished guests including Nandini – Founder trustee, GRG Trust, Kranthi Kumar Pati, District Collector,  Raguram Arjunan – President, SEPA, Sivalingarajan – Ex-Director Distribution, TANGEDCO, Anand – Ex-Director Transmission and System Operations, Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB), Aravind Kumar Chandiran – Head, Center for Photo and Electro-Chemical Energy Science, IIT Madras, Anil Pillai – Ex-Deputy Chief Engineer, KSEB and Yesodha Devi – Secretary, PSGRKCW.

The event has garnered significant support from leading entities in the field, with M/s Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd., (SECI) stepping forward as a key sponsor. As a Miniratna Company under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India, SECI recognizes the event’s synergy and value, aligning with their commitment to advancing renewable energy and sustainable practices.

This collaboration will be mutually beneficial, in terms of product and process development, Industrial support and funding for Research.
