Vivekananda Institute of Management Studies, a Stand-Alone B-School, Finance club organized an Investor Awareness Program (IAP) on ‘Commodities Market’ on Thursday (25/04/2024).
Dr.A.Valarmathi, Director – VIMS delivered a Presidential Address and discussed the importance of IAP, the scope of financial markets, and its opportunities.
Dr. K. Prabhakaran, SEBI SMARTs Trainer, NCDEX Empanelled Resource person delivered an expert talk. He interacted with students about investing in the gold market and its scope. He engaged the session by exploring the Over-the-Counter Market, Employment opportunities in the securities market and various regulatory bodies like SEBI, RBI, IRDAI, and PFRDA.
He also presented about importance of the stock market, on DEMAT account and its benefits, shared investment procedures, the importance of Mutual Fund investments, an overview of the Commodities Market, factors affecting commodity prices, derivatives and their types.
As an outcome of this session, Students benefitted by understanding Commodities and securities markets, basic investment modes and knowledge of share trading.
