CIO Klub 9th Anniversary

CiO KLUB Coimbatore Chapter celebrated its 9th anniversary, at Le Meridian Hotel, recently. Dr. Palanivel Thiaga Rajan, Minister for Information Technology & Digital Services, Government of Tamil Nadu was the chief guest for the celebration. In the event, Managing and Executive council members of CiO KLUB Coimbatore Chapter also participated.

Dr.Raveendran, President of the CIO Klub, Coimbatore, gave the welcome address and stated that in today’s context, CIOs have a significant role to play in the development of their organizations and society at large. Dr.Balasubramaniam, former President, the Coimbatore chapter, introduced the chief guest.

P.T.R.Palanivel Thiagarajan, while delivering a special address said, “Broadband connectivity on fiber will be rolled out in 12,650  Gram panchayats in Tamil Nadu” which will be a social equity platform to empower people in the villages.

The Minister further said, “We have to do a lot more for our citizens by increasing the efficiency of every rupee spent by the Govt through the timely implementation of projects.” A conducive atmosphere has been created for companies to come and set up their units in the State. Already, 4—5 big global companies have come into Tamil Nadu.

“By pursuing the right kind of educational policy and social justice policy for about a century, the literacy rate has gone up in Tamil Nadu. 85 percent of the girls have graduated from high school and 50 percent of the college-going age students are pursuing higher education. There has arisen a need to create suitable job opportunities commensurate with the creation of talents,” the Minister said.

 

Subodh Nair – Elgi Equipment Ltd,  Prabhu – Suguna Foods, Sridhar – FASO, A unit of KPR Mill Ltd, Jidesh Gopinathan – Arya Vaidya Pharmacy were conferred with  ‘Hall of Fame’ awards for effective implementation of IT projects in their respective companies.
