Shiv Nadar University Chennai launched the South India-level Quiz Competition- QUBIZ, at Yuvabharathi School, Coimbatore on 9th October, 2023. As part of EduQuest, the initiative aims to attract students, offering them opportunities for learning and growth. Zonal rounds spanned various cities, including Coimbatore, where Vidhya Niketan School rose to victory. The winners in each of the zonal rounds will be called to the Shiv Nadar University Chennai campus for the grand finale to find the top quizzing team of the year. The final winners of SNUC QuBiz will win Scholarships worth 7.2 Lakhs.
The inaugural session, led by Samuel Giftson, Manager – Marketing & Outreach at Shiv Nadar University Chennai, emphasized future career prospects for 2030. Giftson introduced forward-thinking programs like B.Tech CSE (Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, Internet of Things, Cyber Security) and specialized Arts programs such as BCom (Hons), BCom (Professional Accounting), and B.Sc. Economics (Data Science).
Renowned Quizmaster Rangarajan, CEO of Mindgames, orchestrated the seamless Coimbatore Zonal round, witnessing participation from 150-plus teams. Vidhya Niketan School’s Gagan Tumkur and Atulithan claimed the first prize, securing a cash prize of Rs. 10,000. The PSBB Millenium School’s Ashwin and Vishruth Muralidharan secured the second spot with a Rs. 6,000 cash prize, while Suguna Pip School’s Nithis Rajkumar and Siddharth Dhanasekar clinched the third position with a Rs. 3,000 cash prize.
Geetha Jayachandran, Principal of Yuvabharathi Public School (Venue Partner for Coimbatore Edition), graced the event as Chief Guest. She distributed prizes to the winners and motivated students to delve into the fascinating world of quizzing. Vidhya Niketan School’s triumph showcased their knowledge and quizzing prowess, marking a proud moment for the school and its participants.
