KMCHCON organized Career Orientation Program

KMCH College of Nursing organized a Career Orientation Program on September 13, 2023. The event began with a welcome speech by Prof. Malarkodi, who extended greetings to the speakers and attendees.

Prof. Madhavi, Principal of KMCH College of Nursing, delivered a presidential address, highlighting the significance of the occasion. Mohanambal, Nursing Director at KMCH, delivered a special address.

The program featured various informative sessions. Prof. Indhumathi led the first session on “Telephone Manners and Decorum,” focusing on telephone etiquette. Prof. Buvaneswari followed with a session on “Resume Writing,” providing valuable insights on crafting compelling resumes.

Prof. Madhavi returned to present on “Sharpening Communication Skills,” addressing the importance of effective communication. Mohanambal shared her perspective as Nursing Director on “Expectations from a Nurse,” emphasizing the expanded role of nurses and the skills required for a successful nursing career. She also discussed “Higher Education Opportunities,” providing insights into further education options.

Selvakumar, HR representative from KMCH, conducted a session on “HR Perspective,” covering recruitment processes, salary negotiation, induction training, and certificate verification. Prasanambikai, a Staff Nurse from Railway Hospital in Chennai, led a session on “Navigating Your Future,” motivating students to excel in competitive exams.

An online session, conducted by Akram Ahmad from Australia, explored “Overseas Opportunities for Nurses and Career Guidance,” with Abdul Razaac elaborating on NCLEX and opportunities in Australia.

Sekar, Nursing Officer at NIMHANS, led a session on “Mapping Your Professional Journey,” guiding students on preparing for competitive exams. Prof. Renuka conducted a session on the “Alumni Association,” explaining its purpose, members, and functions.
