Dr. N.G.P Arts and Science College, Department of Food Science and Nutrition and Biochemistry organized two-day Millet exhibition on September 8 & 9 in the regard of Millet Year 2023. This initiative was to embrace the importance of millets. Students of various departments visited the stalls. Department of Biochemistry set up stalls on the first day followed by Department of Food Science and Nutrition on the next day. Dr. Thavamani D Palaniswami, Secretary was the chief guest along with Deans of Various portfolios. The students presented various millet based healthy and innovative products which including ragi muffins, millet apple cake, millet hot chocolate, jowar popcorn, millet jelly, ragi stuffed banana, millet pancake etc. Over 120 millet products were prepared by the students to show the diverse utilization of millets. The judging panel members awarded the best millet products. The event was a great success and concluded with the hope that more such events to showcase the talents of the students should be organized in the campus.
