Chandrayaan-3 Victory: Nehru College’s Cake Cutting Celebration

Nehru Group of Institutions, Coimbatore celebrated the landing of Chandrayaan-3 by cake cutting ceremony featuring a 2.5 feet Rocket-shaped cake. Students of Nehru College of Aeronautics and Applied Science had the opportunity to witness the live telecast of the event by ISRO on a grand screen(theatre) set up within the premises of Nehru Arts and Science College campus. The broadcast started at 5.00 PM and the last 15 minutes gave the students a hands-on experience. P. Krishnakumar, Chief Executive Officer and Secretary of Nehru Group of Institutions, and Principals of Nehru Group of Institutions participated in the celebration.

In his congratulatory address, P. Krishnakumar exclaimed, “Today, history was made as Chandrayaan 3 gracefully touched down on the Moon’s southern pole, adding another glorious chapter to India’s achievements. Our nation and its people are filled with immense pride and joy. The successful launch of Chandrayaan-3 from Sriharikota on July 14 at 2:35 pm, carried out by the LVM-3 rocket, marks a remarkable feat. Designed by ISRO at a cost of Rs. 615 crore, the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft weighs 3,895 kg. Following a meticulous 14-day lunar survey, India now stands as the fourth country in the world to successfully land a spacecraft on the Moon, following the USA, Russia, and China. Notably, India has earned the distinction of being the pioneer in lunar south pole exploration.”
