Department of Commerce along with 3 departments of Dr. N.G.P. Arts and Science College jointly organized a National Conference on “SOCIAL INNOVATION AND BUSINESS SUSTAINABILITY (SIBS – 2023)” at the NGP Conference center.
Arun Umapathy, Head of Turnkey Solutions, Fanuc India Limited, Bengaluru chaired the inaugural session. The keynote address was given by Vishal Nair, Co-Founder and Director of LightNSalt Pvt. Ltd, Palakkad, Kerala. The Presidential Address was given by Dr. Nalla G Palaniswamy, Chairman –of KMCRET, the Felicitation Address was given by Dr. Thavamani D Palaniswami, Secretary of Dr. N.G.P. Arts and Science College, and the valedictory session was presided over by V. Selvaraj, Former Director, Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
Dr. Thavamani highlighted adopting new technology for business sustainability after Covid 19 and the importance of self updation. Arun Umapathy explained the basic needs and the future of innovators in Information Technology and operations. Vishal Nair elaborated the session on the skills that students should gain to promote and sustain with the technologically developing society. Selvaraj elaborated on the Companies Act 2013 and the functioning of the corporate sector in accordance with the law.
Nearly 1000 students, research scholars, and academicians from various colleges and universities actively participated and presented their research papers on various themes. Meanwhile, the Best paper award is also given to encourage the paper presenters.
