Dr.G.R.Damodaran College of Science (Autonomous), School of Communication, organized the 14th Avtar Short Film Festival, on Friday.
The welcome address was given by Dr.Sasikala, HOD, School of Communication
In the film festival, Suresh Mari, the Director of J. Baby Movie, and Attakathi Dinesh, the lead actor of J. Baby Movie were the Chief Guests. Dr.Santha, Principal, GRDCS, and Dr.Sasikala, HOD, School of Communication were overwhelmed by the 71 entries from the college students and budding filmmakers in the film festival.
In the morning, short films were screened, which were judged by a jury consisting of Vijay Anand, S16 Flicks Production House, and Sukumar Sundar, a renowned cinematographer. The best Short Film, Documentary, and Director, and other 12 category awards were given.
Actor Attakathi Dinesh motivated the students, saying that they should take both success and failure in the same way and must keep growing which is the most important. Suresh Mari, the Director of J. Baby Movie, asked the students to choose the field where they are very good and improve that field.
