Kongunadu Arts and Science College, the PG Department of English organized a One Day International Workshop on Theory to Praxis in Research: Demystifying the Modern Literary Theory and its Applications on Tuesday.
The inauguration of the Workshop commenced with the lighting of the traditional lamp. Dr. Rajeswari, Associate Professor, PG Department of English, welcomed the gathering. Dr. Nagaraja Associate Professor and Head, the Department of English(Aided) gave the presidential address.
Dr.Youveniya, Associate Professor and Head, PG Department of English introduced the resource person. Dr. Manu Mangattu, a Visiting Professor at Harvard, Poet, Research Consultant, and Publishing Expert from Hyderabad was the Resource Person, Mangattu gave the keynote address, and Dr.Jennie, Assistant Professor, offered gratitude.
There were two technical sessions. In technical session 1, the guest speaker briefed on approaches to literary theories and criticism. In session 2 he elaborated on how to approach a literary text with theory, the implementations of literary theory in a literary text, and an overview of cultural studies.
The participants were immensely happy and gave positive feedback about the workshop. This is indeed one of the milestones in the epoch of the PG Department of English, KASC.
