The Department of Biomedical Engineering of Dr.N.G.P. Institute of Technology organized a two-day National Level Seminar on “Design and Fabrication of Thin Film Biopatches for Detecting Bio Parameters in Human Body under Noninvasive Methodology for Healthcare Applications” on 18th & 19th October 2023, which was sponsored by the Biomedical Engineering Society of India.
Ragavi, Assistant Professor, Department of Biomedical Engineering rendered the welcome address. Prabha, Principal, gave the presidential address on the importance of the seminar. In his felicitation, Vijayakumar, Head of the Department, conveyed the need for Biopatches in the field of healthcare applications. Vijayakumar, Director and Research Coordinator, Vj Biotech Private Limited, Coimbatore, inaugurated the seminar and shared the knowledge about recent trends in Biopatch Fabrication from concept to reality. Pachamuthu, a Technical Expert in Biosensor Fabrication, Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, Sathyamangalam delivered a technical talk on Fabrication methods for Detecting Disease and Healthcare Monitoring using Biopatchs.
On the second day, Aarathi Pradeep, Assistant Professor, Department of Physical Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeedham, Coimbatore, delivered a technical talk on Detection of disease and point of care diagnosis using Biopatch. Velmurugan, Associate Professor, Department of Biomedical Engineering, NGPiTECH shared his research experience which addressed how to create a safer healthcare environment by using Biopatch.
The seminar was concluded with a vote of thanks by Raghul Jayaprakash, student coordinator, Department of Biomedical Engineering, NGPiTECH.
