PSG’s iTech Dialogue with Ferose

The iTech Dialogue 2023 showcased the evolving essence of engineering in the modern world. A keynote by Ferose, a luminary in the engineering realm, highlighted the future engineer’s attributes. He emphasized the value of generalists, encouraging diverse experiences for success. Ferose explored the Latin origin of “engineer” as a problem solver, advocating for teaching thinking principles alongside knowledge.

He unveiled key engineer characteristics: “Ingenuity” to innovate, “Grit” for resilience, and “Problem-solving” as the nucleus of engineering. “Craftsmanship” and “Altruism” were celebrated, stressing precision and societal impact. Global interconnectedness and meaningful collaboration were highlighted. Core values of “Courage,” “Compassion,” “Craftsmanship,” “Curiosity,” and “Community” were presented. A felicitation ceremony honoured Ferose, with esteemed personalities including Ramesh, IQAC Director & HOD/Mechanical, Manimegalai, HOD/CSE, and dignitaries from SAP joined to celebrate and endorse Ferose’s insights, underlining the significance of his discourse.

Executive Members summarized the symposium’s essence, leaving attendees inspired. The event successfully depicted the future engineer’s persona while reinforcing their spirit and ethical compass. The event witnessed a gathering of 800 attendees.
