‘Tiruchendur’ – a Bharatanatyam concert at KCT

With the intent to throw light on the philosophical significance of Kanda Sashti Vizha that takes place at Tiruchendur, renowned Bharatanatyam dancer-choreographer Karuna Sagari will perform ‘Tiruchendur’ – a Bharatanatyam concert this Sunday at Kumaraguru College of Technology (KCT), Saravanampatti.

A press conference was held on Thursday to convey that Karuna Sagari and her Bhakti Natya Niketan have made extensive preparation for this concert, with regard to the content and music for the concert.

14 different literary works including Kandha Puranam have been used to develop the content for the performance. Tiruchendur will delve into the innate potential of humans to seek glimpses of the infinite even while struggling with the fallibility of human nature.

For Tiruchendur’s music, the composer Susha has taken contents from 13 works of original literature dating back from the 5th to 20 centuries. The music has been recorded professionally featuring 7+ acclaimed musicians and 14+ folk and classic instruments in one of the best studios.

Tickets are made available via the BookMyShow ticketing app, and spot tickets are also available at KCT. This concert is a fundraiser event, and the funds raised will be used to fuel the Murugan Unarvu World Tour.

Karuna Sagari said that they plan to take this concert to 5 continents where the passion for Lord Murugan prevails. Planned countries include Malaysia, Singapore, Canada, South Africa, Australia, Switzerland and many more.
