Hindustan Engineering College students wins AICTE’s Bharat Cycle Challenge

Hindustan College of Engineering emerged victorious in AICTE’s national Bharat Cycle Challenge, clinching first place in the EV cargo category. Their innovative electric cargo vehicle, capable of traveling 200 kilometers per charge and carrying up to 200 kg, stood out among 600 participating teams. The versatile design includes variants for goods delivery, selling vegetables, solar-powered ice cream vending, and child-friendly travel.

The winning team, consisting of four male and one female student from the mechanical, agriculture, and electrical departments, received mentorship from Ross Mathew. Previously, AICTE awarded a grant of Rs 40,000 and a two-month development window. AICTE Chairman Sitharam presented a prize of 1 lakh for winning this competition. College dignitaries including Secretary Sarasuwathi Khannaiyann, Executive Secretary Priya Satish Prabhu, CEO Karunakaran, Principal Jaya, Dean Innovation Siva, and department heads joined in extending their congratulations.
