FLO’s Plogging initiative at 5 locations in CBE

The Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s women’s wing, FICCI Ladies Organization (FLO), is in collaboration with RAAC, FLO gearing up for an impactful Plogging event coinciding with Environmental Health Day on September 26th. The event features environmentalist and social activist Sri Ripu Daman Bevli, known as the ‘Plogman of India,’ who champions the concept of ‘plogging’—a fusion of jogging and litter collection. Plogging promotes both personal health and environmental responsibility, with participants pledging to maintain litter-free surroundings.

This Plogging with 750 participants will take place across five locations in Coimbatore.

  2. Gandhimaa Nagar Main Road, Gandhimaa Nagar at 6.30 AM,
  3. Codissia Entrance at 7.00 AM,
  4. G.V. Residency-Vinayagar Temple at 7.30 AM,
  5. Corporation Park Opp. To BSNL Office – Alagesan road, Saibaba Colony at 7.15 AM

Previously, a ‘Go Green, Breathe Clean’ painting competition for senior school students, focusing on the ‘Impact of Plastic Usage on the Environment was held. The top entries will receive prizes during a public function on September 26th. This public function will see Sri Ripu Daman Bevli engaging Coimbatore’s youth as an ambassador of the Fit India Movement. Industrialist Sankar of Shree Renga Polymers will address environmental issues, plastic recycling, upcycling, and sustainability. Balasundaram, President of RAAC, will also address the gathering, raising awareness about the environmental impact of plastic use.

Embracing the G20 summit’s theme, “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (The World Is One Family), FLO underscores the importance of collective well-being and responsible stewardship of the planet through sustainable practices. This initiative calls for a united commitment to a greener, cleaner, and healthier world.
