Mahindra Truck and Bus Division (MTBD) has announced a noteworthy initiative on Drivers’ Day – the Mahindra Saarthi Abhiyaan project, which will provide scholarships to the daughters of truck drivers. This initiative aims to support the education of these young girls and empower them. Mahindra is a pioneer among commercial vehicle manufacturers in this effort, offering scholarships of Rs. 10,000/- along with certificates to selected candidates. The program was carried out transparently and independently at over 75 transport hubs across India, benefiting 8928 girls so far.
In February-March 2024, Mahindra plans to felicitate each scholarship recipient at select locations. A total of 1100 scholarships will be awarded to the daughters of truck drivers. Jalaj Gupta, Business Head – Commercial Vehicles, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., highlighted the commitment of the Mahindra Saarthi Abhiyaan to empower women in the Commercial Vehicle sector and enhance the lives of the driver community.
