TNAU hosts AgriUdaan Road Show 6.0

The Agribusiness Incubation Society (ABIS) – Technology Business Incubator (TBI), in collaboration with a-IDEA, ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad, successfully organized the AgriUdaan Road Show 6.0 at the Directorate of Agribusiness Development, TNAU, Coimbatore.

Sivakumar, Former Director of ABD & TPO to VC, TNAU, highlighted the importance of innovation in agriculture for growth and poverty alleviation. He emphasized the potential of technology and automation start-ups, envisioning them as the future of agriculture. Climate change, environment restoration, and agricultural ecosystem factors were also emphasized for start-ups to address.

In her presidential address, Hemaprabha, Director of ICAR-Sugarcane Breeding Institute, Coimbatore, acknowledged the favourable environment for start-ups, providing opportunities for funding, mentoring, and support from government and incubation centers.

Venkateshwarlu, Joint Director of ICAR-NAARM, discussed NAARM’s role in providing extensive training to scientists, faculty, farmers’ producer organizations (FPOs), and entrepreneurs. The event witnessed informative presentations by SenthilVinayagam, Principal Scientist and Head of ESM and CEO of IDEA, ICAR-NAARM, and Thirumala Rao, DDM NABARD, Coimbatore, who highlighted NABARD’s support for AgriUdaan. Edward Rajakumar, AGM, State Bank of India, Chennai, Gnanasambandam, ED & CEO (TBI), DABD, TNAU were also present at the event.

The event saw the participation of nearly 100 stakeholders, including start-ups, investors, incubators, mentors, academicians, and bankers, contributing to the growth and upliftment of the agricultural sector.
