Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Coimbatore (ICCIC) recently organised the 5th Edition of “Uzhave Thalai 5.0 Agri Seminar” at CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex, Coimbatore.
V Geethalakshmi, Vice Chancellor, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Coimbatore, inaugurated the event.
B Sriramulu, President, ICCIC welcomed the gathering and Cibi N B Anand, Chairman, Uzhave Thalai Committee briefed about the concept of Uzhave Thalai.
This year they have instituted three awards to recognize the achievements of Women Agro Entrepreneurs, Collective Farming efforts, and Innovation on Agri Implements.
The Selection Committee have selected MNS Suganthi, Global Coconut Farmers Producer Company Limited, (THENNEERA), and Bull Electric Private Limited for the awards of Women Agro Entrepreneurs Awards, Collective Farming Efforts, and Innovation on Agri Implements.
V Geethalakshmi, Vice Chancellor, presented the awards and honoured the awardees.
The speakers Karunakaran Ganesan, Ram Rajasekharan, Prof. M. Loganathan, and Kavin Kumar Kandasamy delivered lectures on the topic of Diversification strategies through high-value fruit crops, Potential of Spices processing and Exports, Value addition of Millets, and Agriculture based Carbon Credits.
N Pradeep, Co-Chairman proposed the Vote of Thanks. Nearly 450 participants consisting of Farmers and Non-Farmers participated.
