BU Organises “The Fourth State” Plasma Exhibition

The Institute for Plasma Research (IPR) and Bharathiar University (BU) organized the Plasma Exhibition in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, from July 10th to July 14th, 2023. The exhibition aimed to create awareness about plasma and its applications among students in the region. It catered to students from 8th to 12th standard, as well as undergraduate, postgraduate, and research scholars in science and engineering. Prof. V. Selvarajan (Former Prof. and Head, Dept. of Phys., BU) delivered the chief guest address.

During the inaugural function, Prof. Srinivasan, Head, the Department of Physics welcomed the participants, while Ravikumar, Outreach Division, IPR encouraged students to pursue higher education in plasma science and technology. Prof. Lovelina Little Flower, Member Vice–Chancellor Committee highlighted the importance of creative thinking in plasma physics and developing environmentally friendly materials. Prof. Selvarajan discussed the fundamentals of plasma science and showcased the achievements in the field.

Shanmugavelayutham expressed gratitude to the sponsoring agencies and participants for their active involvement. The exhibition was inaugurated by Prof. Lovelina Little Flower, Prof. Selvarajan, and Prof. Srinivasan.
