TNAU Organizes “Agri Hackathon”

The tenth edition of AGRONOVA 2023, a National Level Agricultural Inter College Competition with the theme “Agriculture 4.0 – The Future of Farming” was organized by the Dean (Agriculture), AC & RI, TNAU. The competition hosted several team events namely Agro touting, Farm Frenzy, Agri Hackathon, etc.

The Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), New Delhi supported E-YUVA centre functioning in the Department of Plant Biotechnology, Centre for Plant Molecular Biology & Biotechnology, TNAU, co-organised the Agri hackathon event.

Agri Hackathon is a business plan competition in which undergraduate students with startup ideas participate as a team. The start-up ideas were presented by 11 teams from TNAU constituent and affiliated colleges. The innovative ideas presented in the competition include LAFA (an interface to connect agricultural labourers and farmers), donkey farming, millet-based milk, organic mask, etc.

Manivel and Bhuvanaeshwaran, students of Forest College & Research Institute, Mettupalayam, won the Agri Hackathon event for their idea entitled “Biomass Briquettes from Invasive species”
