TNAU organized Prabandhaz’23

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) recently hosted Prabandhaz’23, a national-level management event, at its campus in Coimbatore. The event, which took place on June 22nd and 23rd, saw the participation of students from various colleges across India, including Gujarat, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Kerala.

Over 340 students, both undergraduate and postgraduate, participated in Prabandhaz’23, displaying their management skills and competencies. The event commenced with a grand opening ceremony attended by esteemed guests, including TNAU’s Vice-Chancellor. During the ceremony, a magazine called AGBIZ Connect was released, showcasing the achievements of the Department of Agricultural & Rural Management.

Distinguished individuals like Geethalakshmi, Vice-Chancellor of TNAU, Venkatesa Palanichamy, Dean (Agriculture), Senthil, Dean (School of Post Graduate Studies), Somasundaram, Director (Agribusiness Development), Suresh Kumar, Director, Center for Agricultural and Rural Development Studies (CARDS), and Chief Guest Suresh Kumar, APAC – Row Crops Commercial Production Lead at Bayer Crop Science Ltd, Hyderabad, congratulated the participants.

During their speeches, the guests emphasized the significance of personal growth, career development, and networking opportunities offered by Prabandhaz’23. They highlighted the support available for student entrepreneurs, including incubation facilities and funding opportunities. Geethalakshmi, Vice-Chancellor of TNAU, shared the university’s vision of fostering student entrepreneurs and discussed their collaborations with farmer organizations. Notable initiatives like TNAU Agri-Cart, which delivers products to farmers and consumers, were also mentioned. A generous sum of 20 crores was announced to support these initiatives. Uma, the head of the department, commended the students for their commendable efforts in organizing the event within a short timeframe.

Prabandhaz’23 comprised various events encompassing finance, human resources (HR), business planning, operations, marketing, and a special category called Best Manager for MBA students. Undergraduates actively participated in events like AD-Act, Buzzy Brains, Clash of Brains, Mind Marathon, and Treasure Hunt.

The event concluded with an award ceremony where winners were honoured with a cash prize of Rs. 1,50,000. Kerala Agricultural University emerged as the Overall Winner in the postgraduate category, while Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science & Higher Education for Women secured the Runner-up position. Vikash Kumar Singh from ASPEE Agribusiness Management Institute was awarded the prestigious Best Manager title, while Anjhana and Nandhini from Coimbatore Institute of Technology claimed victory in the Business Plan category.

In the undergraduate category, the Overall Trophy was awarded to the College of Agricultural Technology, Theni, and the Runner-up Trophy went to Agri College and Research Institute, Killikulam. Students from various colleges in Coimbatore triumphed in events such as Business Quiz, Mind Marathon, ADACT, Mystery Hunt, and Clash of Brains.
