NGPCOE Commemorates International Yoga Day with “Yoga for Vaudhaiva Kutumbakam” Theme

Dr N.G.P College of Education (NGPCOE) celebrated International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm and participation. The event, organized on the theme “Yoga for Vaudhaiva Kutumbakam,” aimed to promote unity, peace, and well-being through the practice of yoga.

Praveen, Assistant Professor of English, and Susatha, Physical Director, coordinated the program, ensuring its smooth execution. The gathering was graced by the presence of Ramasamy, the Principal of the college, who felicitated the attendees.

The Chief Guest was Sidhan Sri Esan Guruji, Founder of Ruthampara Arakattalai, Coimbatore. Guruji delivered an insightful speech emphasizing the importance of yoga and enlightening the audience about the eight limbs of yoga. He also drew inspiration from the teachings of Swami Vivekananda, quoting his profound words during his talk.

To provide a practical demonstration, Guruji led a session showcasing basic asanas (yoga postures) and breathing techniques. The student teachers, under his expert guidance, emulated the asanas, embracing the physical and mental benefits of yoga.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by a student teacher, expressing gratitude to all the participants and faculty members for their active involvement and contribution. The celebration served as a platform to foster a deeper understanding of yoga and its positive impact on individual and collective well-being.
