IIT Bombay, in collaboration with IIT Tirupati and Tamilnadu Skill Development Corporation, successfully organized Mapathon 2023, an annual national-level event. This event, conducted in partnership with FOSSE and organizations like ISRO, witnessed the participation of over 1000 teams from across the country.
One exceptional team of four students from the Civil Engineering department focused on the problem statement of “Agricultural Situation in Thanjavur – lockdown turned farm to fork.” Their remarkable efforts and innovative solutions earned them the title of national champions among 14 outstanding teams.
Additionally, two more teams participated in the problem statement of “Water Source on Quality Mapping of Noise Pollution for Coimbatore District.” These teams showcased exceptional skills and emerged as winners at the national level, alongside 74 teams from different states.
This achievement brings great recognition to the four champions from the final year of Civil Engineering and the seven winners from the third year of Civil Engineering at Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College. Lakshminarayanaswamy, the Managing Trustee of SNR Sons Charitable Trust, Alamelu, the Principal of the institution, and Sarojini, Head of the Civil Department, congratulated the champions, winners, and their mentor, Anitha Selvasofia, Assistant Professor in the department.
