PSG IM concludes the Management Week

PSG Institute of Management organized the AIMS National Management week ahead of the 75th Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, from 1st to 7th August. The concluding event for the same was conducted on Monday as a note of thanksgiving.

Srividya, Director of PSG Institute of Management, in her welcome note stated that the participants of the social activities are the torch bearers of the core concept. In addition, they carried the legacy of the Institution’s social responsibility in a dignified manner.

She said, “Managers should have a holistic development. Management is not only about the corporate development, rather there is something beyond for them to serve in return to the society”.

As an action to inculcate these thoughts within the students, they were divided into various teams to perform and indulge in social activities of their interest. As a result, the response from the student as well as the beneficiaries was indeed more than satisfying.

Chief Guest, S Ramesh Kumar, applauded the student initiative and enthusiasm throughout the event. He emphasized the purpose and importance to learn social skills development. Alongside these aid in achieving a problem-solving ability with the individual and allows them to handle any critical situation, be it professional or personal.

Quoting their service to the special skilled children, he said, “Patient is a valuable asset. Handling special kinds requires a lot of patience and you have achieved in giving the best of it.” In addition, appreciated their initiative to educate school students on Stem education.  As a note of appreciation, he offered to associate the team with researchers of Atlanta and collaboratively work towards creating awareness of stem education.

Further, he provided suggestions for the students to take up action regarding water management and sanitation, being a major concern among the underprivileged in society. Highlighting the upcoming Independence day, he said, “Patriotism is an emotion to show. Words don’t necessarily express it, rather respect for women, corruption-free life and upholding the righteous policies of the nation are the perfect expressions”.

The event followed the giveaway to the housekeeping staff as a token of gratitude towards their work irrespective of the pandemic.

Finally, guest Ramesh Kumar presented a sampling to Srividya, Director of PSG Institute of Management, as a remark on promoting the ‘Go green’ concept and carrying the social welfare activities in a much wider range.
