Vanathi requests Centre addl. Vaccines for TN

Vanathi Srinivasan, MLA, Coimbatore South Constituency, met Union Health Minister Dr.Harsh Vardhan on Friday and thanked him for allocating 42.85 lakh vaccine doses to Tamil Nadu for the month of June.

She explained Dr.Vardhan that Tamil Nadu needs more vaccines to vaccinate the workers of the industrial sector, and the State also needs immediate stocks of Liposomal Amphotericin B to treat Mucormycosis (Black Fungus) cases which are increasing in Tamil Nadu.

Vanathi appealed to the Health Minister to increase the allocation of vaccines to Tamil Nadu to vaccinate people belonging to the 18-44 age group, and also provide an additional supply of Liposomal Amphotericin B to treat the patients affected by Black Fungus.

She also requested the Union Minister to commission and utilize the Integrated Vaccine Facility at Chengalpattu to boost the production and distribution of the vaccines.
