World Happiness Report 2024

As per the World Happiness Report 2024, which was released in partnership with Gallup, the Oxford Wellbeing Research Centre, the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, and the WHR’s Editorial Board

Lithuania has the happiest young people (aged below 30 years of age), followed by Israel, Serbia, Iceland, and Denmark. Luxembourg, Finland, Romania, Netherlands, and Czechia are also among the top 10 countries with the happiest people in the age group. India ranked 127th among 143 countries on the list. Denmark has the happiest old people, and Finland is the world’s happiest nation overall

The findings were announced on Wednesday (20.03.2024), to mark the UN’s International Day of Happiness. Experts use responses from people in more than 140 nations to rank the world’s ‘happiest’ countries.

For the first time, the report gives separate rankings by age group, Rankings are based on factors such as life expectancy, having someone to count on, a sense of freedom, generosity, and perceptions of corruption.
