Sankara College of Science and Commerce has recently celebrated the Annual Sports Day 2024 recently in the college campus.
The function commenced with a prayer song. The honor of the chief guest Selvi, Inspector of Police, E3 Police station, Saravanampatti, Coimbatore hoisted the flag and launched the ceremony by releasing pigeons. She motivated the students and stressed that sports play a vital role in the development of every student. She advised that it keeps our mind and body hale and healthy.
Joint Secretary Sandhya Ramachandran and Deputy Joint Secretary Nithya Ramachandran of Sankara Educational Institutions delivered the felicitation address. Dr. Radhika, Principal, and Prof. Bernard Edward, Vice Principal were present and supported the event.
The Chief Guest accepted the marching honor of the students of all departments. The Olympic torch was lit at the ceremony. 100 meters, 400 meters, races for students were held.
The special guest Selvi gave prizes to the students who won in various sports competitions. Commerce department students won the overall championship trophy by scoring the most points. The students of the Information Technology department won the second position.
Dr. Nelson, Director of Physical Education of the college delivered the vote of thanks. The Annual sports meet concluded with the National Anthem.
