Vanathi Srinivasan provides huge financial support to 100 girl children

On behalf of Kovai Makkal Sevai Maiyam, a social welfare organization headed by Vanathi Srinivasan, National President, BJP Mahila Morcha 100 girl children living solely under the care of their mothers in Covai received financial support through ‘Modi’s Daughter’ scheme on Thursday.

The scheme was launched on the same day at Kamala Duraisamy Hall.

Speaking at the event, Vanathi Srinivasan said “this scheme is mainly to provide educational support to the beneficiaries. We began conducting a survey in many parts of the district to see whether the public have enough awareness about Central Government’s schemes.”

“At that point of time, we found that the education of girl child raised by widowed women in the district had been much affected and interrupted. In a poor family, the girl child’s education is normally disrupted because of the notion that Male children will be an asset and so he requires education in hard times.”

“The same is not thought about girl child and so she is mostly sent to work, though govt school is available. The family has no adequate finance to help the girl’s educational needs.”

“Our team worked for 2 months and identified the needy and created bank accounts for the girl children. We will be depositing Rs.10,000 on each child’s account annually in the form of Demand Draft for the next 5 years to support their education.”

“My only request to all is that they should never stop their Education for any reason. For the smart and hard working girl child, we will continue to support beyond the announced period.”

“Our PM has phenomenal interest in seeing our women and girls get empowered. He in fact gave away all his honorary cash rewards for the development of girl children.”

Ms.Srinivasan distributed sweets, crackers, new clothes for mothers and the girl child.
