Lions Club of Cbe Nehru Nagar distributed new clothes to more than 200 sanitary workers ahead of Diwali as a way of appreciating their tireless support rendered in curbing the spread of novel coronavirus in the district.
The distribution was held on Thursday. 250 sanitary workers belonging to Coimbatore Corporation ward no. 33- Kalapatti, 34-Veeriyampalayam, 35-Nehru Nagar and 36-Nehru Nagar received sarees and cloth-materials for shirts and trousers.
PMJF R.N.Karunanithi, District Governor, Lions Club International Dist.324 B1 said “we have provided these new clothes to the sanitary workers as a way of appreciating their hard work during the pandemic period. We have also provided masks and kabasura kudineer to the residents of Nehru Nagar. I appreciate the efforts taken by Lions Club of Cbe Nehru Nagar”
The clubs leaders and members took part in the event.
