Experience the German Spirit: Oktoberfest Hits Coimbatore

Coimbatore’s Goethe Zentrum is hosting a special event, “The German Oktoberfest,” for the first time in the city. The celebration kicked off at Hotel The Grand Regent on Nov 24, with Michaela Kuchler, the German Consul General, as the chief guest. The event, inspired by Germany’s carnival tradition, runs Friday and Saturday from 5.00 pm to 11.00 pm and Sunday from 11.00 am to 2.00 pm and 5.00 pm to 11.00 pm.

Adding a touch of Bavarian charm, German Chef Kurt Henkensmeier, President of the German Chefs Association, is in Coimbatore until the end of November, offering a delightful culinary journey with German delicacies. The festivities also feature the German Music Band “Blechsauga,” led by Armin Seibert, playing original Oktoberfest tunes.

With engaging German activities for all ages, the Oktoberfest highlights authentic German food and beverages. It’s a unique opportunity for Coimbatore to embrace German culture, especially with the presence of German companies in the city. Tickets are available at the venue, Goethe Zentrum, and on BookmyShow.
