WBN Honours KASC as the “Pride of Coimbatore”

The Department of Commerce with Information Technology, in collaboration with KASC – Institution Innovation Council (KASC – IIC) and Women Business Network (WBN), Coimbatore, organized the National Start-up Conclave.

The conclave featured a diverse range of activities, including expert talks by innovators and founders, brand launches, idea pitching, grant releases, awards, rewards, and exhibitions.

Divya Priya, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Commerce with Information Technology, warmly welcomed the gathering. Lekeshmanaswamy, Principal of the college, presided over the event, shedding light on the current start-up landscape in India. Saravamoorthi, Academic Coordinator, offered felicitations to the attendees.

Naveen Manickam, Founder of Women’s Business Network (WBN), delivered the inaugural address, highlighting the core themes of the conclave. He emphasized the significance of innovation, creativity, and the essential skills and knowledge required for entrepreneurship.

Gayathri, Founder and CEO of HerboQueen Enterprises, underlined the role of the government in fostering start-ups. She emphasized that every problem presents a unique opportunity for start-ups to address societal issues and create businesses around them.

Rtn. Vichitra Senthilkumar, Core Committee member of ESRAG, motivated the students by discussing various start-up opportunities and the entrepreneurial mindset needed for success.

Siva Poonguzhali, Founder of Poo Viruksham Company, shared her journey of turning her passion into a successful business. She stressed the importance of innovation and adapting to change for entrepreneurs.

Rajkumar, Founder of UCFER, provided insights into the significance of digital marketing for start-ups, highlighting its role in reaching a wider audience.

Surekha, Founder of Women’s Health Care, discussed the qualities and leadership skills necessary for an entrepreneur to lead their business effectively.

Santi Gomathi, Founder of KITE, emphasized the entrepreneurial opportunities available in overseas markets.

In a special recognition, Kongunadu Arts and Science College was honoured as the “Pride of Coimbatore” by Women’s Business Network (WBN).

During the conclave, over nine students pitched their innovative ideas, with one idea presented by Vijayanand on civil tech capturing the attention of investor Raj Kumar, Founder of UCFER, leading to a grant release. Additionally, three founders launched their products and brands, while more than 15 students showcased their products through stalls.

The conclave proved to be beneficial for a wide audience, with 20 entrepreneurs, 10 studentpreneurs, 22 faculty members, and 500 students gaining valuable insights and inspiration.
