KASC Takes a Stand against Drug Abuse

In response to the call for a ‘Drug Free Tamil Nadu’ by the Chief Minister, a resolute stance was taken by Kongunadu Arts and Science College. The Narcotic Intelligence Bureau, CID unit organized a state-level event in Chennai, which was echoed in their classrooms.

Students and staff united in all classrooms and pledged against drug abuse. Later, 1200 participants convened in the College Auditorium, and joined a live telecast led by the Chief Minister. The event underscored their commitment as students followed the Chief Minister’s lead, enhancing the cause.

Continuing the momentum, Kongunadu Arts and Science College’s Anti-drug abuse committee orchestrated an awareness program on ‘Drug Free Tamil Nadu’. Muthukumar, Assistant Professor of Tamil and committee member, extended a warm welcome, while Lekeshmanaswamy, Principal and Committee Chairman, delivered the presidential address.

Rathnakumar, Inspector of Police, Thudiyalur, delivered an impactful discourse on ‘Drug usage and its effects on life and family’. Narendhirakannan, Assistant Professor of Biochemistry and Coordinator of the Anti-Drug Abuse committee enriched the gathering as the facilitator.

Concluding the event, Anusha, a student of II M. Sc Botany and committee member, extended a gracious vote of thanks. With the participation of approximately 4500 students and staff members, the ‘Drug Free Tamil Nadu’ program emerged as a resounding success.
