Tata Motors’ Nexon EV Sets New Records with 50,000 Sales and Epic Kashmir to Kanyakumari Drive

Tata Motors’ Nexon EV, an electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has achieved a major milestone with over 50,000 units sold since its launch in 2020. The Nexon EV has transformed the EV market in India by providing customers with a practical and long-range EV experience. It is currently available in over 500 cities across India and has been driven over 900 million kilometres, demonstrating the confidence of its strong customer base. Nexon EV owners are driving an average of 6.3 million kilometers per month on intercity and outstation trips ranging from 100 to 400 km. India’s charging infrastructure has also grown significantly, with over 6,000 charging stations in the country, breaking barriers to EV adoption.

The Nexon EV recently set a record by completing a 4,003-kilometer journey from Kashmir to Kanyakumari in under four days, showcasing its ability to undertake multi-city trips. Throughout the drive, the Nexon EV delivered an average real-world range of over 300 kilometers. Tata Motors’ Nexon EV continues to drive India’s transition to electrified mobility.

Commenting on this milestone,  Vivek Srivatsa, Head, Marketing, Sales and Service Strategy, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., said, “The Nexon EV was introduced as India’s own electric SUV with the aim of offering a cool, stylish, practical and real-world solution for faster EV adoption in India. The Nexon EV customers have grown to 50K in just 3 years. This is a testament to how India has embraced EVs as the mobility of the current times. We would like to thank the early adopters, who believed in the promise of the Nexon EV and in-turn allowed the EV ecosystem to build and become what it is now. We hope more people experience the promise of an EV and evolve to electric.”
