The Women Development Cell of Dr.N.G.P. Institute of Technology organized a guest lecture on “Sexual Harassment Prevention and Redressal” to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict. The event, held on June 19, 2023, aimed to raise awareness about sexual harassment among I-Year students. Gomathy, Professor &Head –Department of CSBS, welcomed the attendees, followed by a presidential address by Principal Prabha, emphasizing the importance of addressing sexual harassment in today’s world. Adv Poorvaja A. Ragupathy, a Civil and Commercial Lawyer, shared her expertise on sexual harassment prevention, gender discrimination, and the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) procedures. Over 600 students participated in the enlightening session, gaining valuable insights into their rights and reporting mechanisms. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Priya, a member of the Women Development Cell.
