ABIS Conducts Entrepreneurship Training for FPOs

The Agribusiness Incubation Society (ABIS) – Technology Business Incubator (TBI) is organizing a three-day training program on “Entrepreneurship Development Programme for FPOs.” The training, funded by ATMA under the Tamil Nadu Small Farmers’ Agribusiness Consortium (TNSFAC) and the Department of Agricultural Marketing and Agri Business (DAMAB), aims to empower farmers from FPOs in Coimbatore, Tirupur, and Erode districts.

The program was inaugurated by Somasundaram, Director of ABD, who emphasized the importance of value addition in agribusiness. He encouraged FPOs to explore the production of quality novel food products with certification to meet both domestic and export market demands. Gnansambandam, CEO of ABIS, delivered the welcome address.

The training curriculum includes sessions on various topics, including GoI – PMFME & AIF schemes for FPOs & Start-ups, Renewable Energy Technologies, Beekeeping, etc.

Additionally, the participants will have the opportunity to embark on a one-day farm visit within the state and a five-day visit outside the state, providing practical exposure and a deeper understanding of Agri entrepreneurship.

TNSFAC, with the support of ABD and TNAU, Coimbatore, is conducting similar training programs for the members of 318 Farmer Producer Organizations, with the goal of transforming them into successful agri entrepreneurs.
