India showcases digital infrastructure at G7 IT conference

According to Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, India demonstrated how digital infrastructure is being constructed to deliver solutions at a population scale at the Group of Seven (G7) countries’ conference of digital and IT ministers in Japan on Thursday.

The G7 Digital and Tech Ministers’ Meeting, which took place in Takasaki, Gunma on April 29–30, extended an invitation to India. Discussion topics at this summit included emerging and disruptive technologies, data flows and digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and internet governance. Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK, and the USA are members of the G7, an intergovernmental organisation. The European Union is not listed as a member.

India’s representative at the summit, Vaishnaw, gave a presentation on the country’s digital public infrastructure.
