The department of Commerce at Sankara College of Science and commerce organized Youth Parliament yesterday at TKP hall. Radhika, Principal welcomed the gathering. Nithya Ramachandran, Deputy Joint Secretary of Sankara Educational Institution presided over the function, and Bernard Edward, Vice principal felicitated the event. The Resource person Natarajan, Member of Parliament, Leader of the communist party of India, Coimbatore, highlighted the importance of youth parliament and advised the students to enrol themselves in all social activities.
Jagatheeswaran, advocate, Trichy District Court, explored the duties of parliament and portrayed the member’s role in parliament. Students of Sankara College exposed a mock parliament debate by raising their points and arguing the points according to their role. Students enacted as Deputy Speaker, secretary general and Members of Parliament, leader of Opposition party, etc. More than 35 students participated. Sheeba, Head, Department of Commerce proposed a vote of thanks.
