TNAU signs MoU with APEDA

  A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Department of Fruit Science, Horticultural College and Research Institute, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore and Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Govt. of India, New Delhi on Monday for enhancing the production potential of commercial grape varieties suitable for export.

APEDA has agreed to provide a grant-in-aid of Rs. 97 lakhs to establish research and development activities. Geethalakshmi, Vice-Chancellor, TNAU suggested that the MoU will help TNAU and APEDA to work together in areas of mutual interest. Ravindra, General Manager, APEDA, Bengaluru expressed his interest to work with TNAU. The MoU was signed by TamizhVendan, Registrar, TNAU and Shobana Kumar, Assistant General Manager, APEDA, Chennai in the presence of Geethalakshmi, Vice-Chancellor, Irene Vethamoni, Dean (Horticulture), HC&RI, Coimbatore, Senthil, Dean (SPGS), TNAU. VenkatesaPalanichamy, Dean (Agriculture), AC&RI, TNAU and Muthuvel, Professor and Head, Department of Fruit Science. Indu Rani, Professor (Horticulture) proposed a vote of thanks.
