Ganga Hospital observes Plastic Surgery Day

Ganga Hospital is a familiar name in Coimbatore for all the good reasons. The hospital on the eve of “Plastic Surgery Day” aim to create awareness on Skin Donation and felicitating the NGO’s and Social Welfare Groups of the city.

Raja Sabapathy, Chairman of the Department of Plastic, Hand, Reconstructive Microsurgery & Burns, Ganga Hospital said, “India accounts for one of the largest number of burn related deaths in the world as a country. A burns victim most often requires multiple surgeries, reconstruction and rehabilitation to get back to productive living.

Skin from the Ganga Skin bank has been used in 120 major burns and trauma patients of Ganga Hospital. Processed skin can be transported and Ganga Skin Bank has been sent to hospitals in Manipal, New Delhi, Jamshedpur and Bangalore.
